Purchased in August '05 outside Baltimore, MD from the second (35 years) owner. All matching number
drive train, original Warranty Book with Protecto-Plate, Title, original and second owner documentation and receipts. Originally Ash Gold with black SS striping, Pearl Parchment Deluxe interior and a black top. 88,983 documented mileage.
Unattractive as she may appear now, the Camaro is remarkably solid considering it had sat quietly in the same outdoor spot (albeit always covered) for the past 18 years. We'll need to replace the entire front clip, doors, full quarters and the
tail pan, and probably one 1/2 floor pan - but thanks to a good original dealer installed undercoating and owner care, the power top frame, interior metal surfaces, trunk floor, firewall, rockers, rear wheel wells and all other uni-body structural components are in excellent shape. The engine hasn't been turned since parked, and of course we'll also go through the M-20 4 speed trans and the 12 bolt posi rear. We also will replace the subframe and A-arms as they evidence the heavy pitting typical of the salt exposure of winter driving.
We'll get started and keep you posted, though it may be awhile, as we're just about past being bogged down at the body shop stage on our other project Camaros and hope to roll on finishing them first.
